Do you know how I know all this self hate around hair is rooted in slavery? I’m Somali I don’t have any of this hatred for my hair despite having nappy hair which isn’t common in Somalia. Not once did I ever think I should wear a wig to cover my hair or think it’s not manageable

From Africa (Central, West, South, North, East) to Americas (Caribbean islands, USA, Canada, Brazil, Latin countries), the majority of black people are brownskinned or darkskinned. Lightskinned people aren't the majority is any black demographic.
