Fun fact: The 6 members of KATSEYE represent 4 continents—Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. Manon Bannerman is the only European member and the only member with African heritage.

@offthewallluver @Orangemoon002 every somali ive ever met has been racist to me but 2, one old man who sat next to me on the bus and was nice to me when i was a kid and we happened to be on the same bus, and one girl who was initially racist but it ended up being bacause of pressure from societal standards

Do you know how I know all this self hate around hair is rooted in slavery? I’m Somali I don’t have any of this hatred for my hair despite having nappy hair which isn’t common in Somalia. Not once did I ever think I should wear a wig to cover my hair or think it’s not manageable

@BettysNetty @MLT008 @ManonPopBase black british is not the same as being english, ethnicity is more important than nationality and impacts what you experience in the country you were born in. i have no family history here but i partake in cultural aspects from both places whether i like it or not

@smfthpg @MLT008 @ManonPopBase I never denied her being European swell, but phenotypically she's a black woman who will be treated more similarly to a black person than a white person. Also other black/brown people who are European relate alot to her struggles

At what point do you then start doing something about those biases and ingrained beauty ‘traumas’ so it doesn't pass on to the next generation of black girls who will inevitably repeat history??????
⭐️IT GIRL⭐️@aliyahInterlude

In a society where how conventionally attractive you are has a DIRECT correlation to your quality of life can you really judge black women for not wanting to wear their hair in a state that has been chastised for generations ????

@Houserent_eth +++and the fact that its more of an asian group than a global group. all in all i think each member contributes, but from a kpop outsiders perspective its a bit obvious how kpop takes black aesthetics and to avoid that criticism but still take advantage of it they used manon

@Houserent_eth i think this is for people who came from the kpop community. for ppl outside for example me i didnt know what a fancam even was i just watched the videos. touch only became popularly discussed among people like me because apparently they hid manon or something, +

Viral moments in Katseye’s career that translated into mainstream attention and commercial success: Kcon LA Sophia’s Fancam for Touch Winxeye D Mg S for MAMA dance break Dani for Gnarly & Gabriela’s bridge Gaps(dance trio carried) Data and Stats do not support this delusion🥱
Chant God@chantgod

Katseye used Manon to gain popularity to bring success to what is basically an all Asian group in the Western world. she was used as racial currency.

@Houserent_eth ++ their older winx look being better than their 2025 halloween looks and what people wanted to see from the netflix adaptation instead of stella being dressed like a library teacher, and manons high photoshoot apparently being hidden but when it came out it was the best one+++

I never stopped having sympathy or liking Sophia and Dani despite their fans being racist every chance they get to Manon . Yall clearly never liked the girl in the first place .
rajer@isthatlararaj

Manon was never the problem, in fact she’s great. But her stupid fans with this narrative that she carried the group and dimishing the other girls 24/7 are making people have less and less sympathy for her. U weirdos are destroying her career, she deserves so much more better

@MelaninExtracts You're clearly delusional at this point because Southern Africans are lighter than West and Central Africans on average and that is due to many factors including environmental adaptation. I bet your agenda is trying to homogenize this continent and act like we all look the same.

Loads of blk ppl like to cope and say '' some of us naturally light skinned '' , despite missing out on the fact that some of them have non blk ancestry (Africa or Americas) and more time the naturally light skinned populations in West/Central/South Africa are very minuscule.
EJ 🇨🇩@inkej31

From Africa (Central, West, South, North, East) to Americas (Caribbean islands, USA, Canada, Brazil, Latin countries), the majority of black people are brownskinned or darkskinned. Lightskinned people aren't the majority is any black demographic.
