Flawed logic, a 50kg dumbbell is more compressed than a bag of cement yet i can pick the dumbbell up with one hand but I can’t do the same with a bag of cement. It’s more about weight distribution than compression.

Yes, because 50 kg of cement is compressed while 50 kg of rice is not. The concentrated load of cement makes it feel heavier, whereas rice spreads out, allowing the lifter to engage more muscle groups. Picture carrying a bag of cement on your shoulder versus a bag of rice: with cement, the entire load presses directly on one point; with rice, it drapes over both the front and back, recruiting more of your chest and back muscles in comparison to the former. Joined a new gym here. Back in India i was a 1% lifter in my gym of 10k residents. Never saw anyone else do 45kg dumbell presses. Out here, saw 2 17 y/o's do 50kg for 12 reps. In one corner a dude was doing deadlifts of 240 kgs. The strength among Americans is unreal
