No Bengali in West Bengal is legally bound to follow any order barked in Hindi language by anyone, armed or unarmed, uniformed or non-uniformed. Knowing Hindi is not a pre- condition of being Bengali. Knowing Bengali is a pre-condition of speaking to a Bengali in Bengal.

To be paid usd1200 per annum in a exporting unit in a State whose per capita income is usd 4500+ is a sure marker of an extractive economy hurtling into a middle income trap

আমাদের বাংলা যেমন শিল্প-সংস্কৃতির পীঠস্থান, তেমনই সর্বধর্ম সমন্বয়ের পীঠস্থান। কিছু অশুভ শক্তি এই বাংলাকে কলুষিত করতে উঠেপড়ে লেগেছে। মানুষের ভোটাধিকার কেড়ে নিচ্ছে দিল্লির জমিদাররা। মনে রাখবেন, এদের গণতান্ত্রিকভাবে জবাব দিতে হবে।
আজকের এই শুভ দিনে আসুন আমরা সমবেতভাবে শপথ নিই; সবরকম সংকীর্ণতার দেওয়াল ভেঙে আমরা বেরিয়ে আসব। কোনও বিভেদকামী-স্বৈরাচারী শক্তি যেন আমাদের চিরকালীন শান্তি, ঐতিহ্যগত সম্প্রীতি আর সৌহার্দ্যের বন্ধন ছিন্ন করতে না পারে।
