@maghribii16 Ghomara in this period were not described as Masmuda , the first chronicler to describe Ghomara as Masmuda was ibn khaldun in the 14th century , Ghomara settled in Cuenca where a town still carries their name

@sonofgetulia Ce sont des Masmoudas mais pas forcément issues du Haut Atlas. Les Banu Faraj peuvent très bien provenir des Ghomaras ou des Masmoudas des plaines.

@muslimfamily83 I did not claim he is from Tlemcen , from Tlemcen implies that he was in Tlemcen in the moment this specific event happened , it's common that he was of Andalusian origins

In the time of the Almohads an illustrious scholar from Tlemcen named Abu Medyen was preparing to travel to the East , however sadness took him over as he had a dark skinned concubine with whom he had a son which he feared leaving behind with no one to take care of one of his students from the Souss , Abdelrazzaq Al Jazuli proposed that he marries her instead and take care of his son , which took Abu Medyen by shock as he replied to him : " You would marry her knowing that it is a shame for the Masmouda to marry a Habesha ( Black ) woman ? " to which Abdelrazzaq replied : " My lord i have no desire to do such thing , i would only do it for your sake alone ."

Almoravids, and especially Almohads, prized white skin as a symbol of purity. Children born to Black mothers had no legal rights or inheritance. Even the name of the Almohads’ first capital, Tinmel, reflects this: it translates as "the place of the pure ones/the whites."

Another Almohad elite Yusuf ibn Wanudin also is mentioned with him from Imlil , his descendant Abdallah ibn Wanudin would lead a last effort in the battles of the Almohads against the Merinids , he managed to ally with Banu Askar a clan of Merinids and Arabs against the Merinid Hamama clan their main rival , but he was betrayed and they all turned on his army . Ibn Tumart was not of mixed race both his father and mother are Chleuh Masmouda . According to Almohad era historian " Al Mu'jab " his father's origins are from Arghen , a Chleuh tribe from Masmouda in the Souss , as for his mother she is from Messkala or Imesskalen from is Ait Youssef which is another Masmuda tribe who lived in the Souss Another 12th century Almohad historian " Al Baydhaq " mentioned Meskala his mother's tribe as part of the Tinmallal Almohad tribes , today this tribe is found east of Tinmel in a place called after them " Tizi n Iskalen " and another region South of Tinmel is also named " Dou Iskalen " they are near Ait Tadrart which is another tribe of Tinmellal mentioned by al baydhaq 1000 years ago As for his complexion , historical descriptions of many Muslim chroniclers agree on him having a " Reddish color "

The village mentioned by ibn qattan is Ait Semeg / Ait Wa'abdi , near it is Dou Iskal which is literally ( Under Meskala ) Ait Semeg are part of Genfissa , and they are not black , it's a name that refers to worshippers or loyal servants of god mentioned many times by Almohads, and it is common among chleuh villages in Almohad chronicles people of Black heritage were either described as " Aswad " or " Khelasi " which meant Mixed

I don't take from Ghouirgate , i take from the original sources that you intentionaly did not mention , also Ibn Tumart's mother has no link to blacks there are 3 different books that state her origin from Meskala Yburk traces it's origin from Baraka , same for names like Ya'zza

Betrayal The Aragonese would see the daylight from a man called Ibn Abbad a Majorcan who defected to them , this man owned an estate in the island and decided to take a big portion of the island with him , as soon as his defection was clear other parts of the island follower course both muslim and christian sources highlight the betrayal of Ibn Abbad as a major event in the war and a decisive factor in the outcome of the entire war , the Muslims that would defect with Ibn Abbad would be later on enslaved by the Aragonese state the islamic sources
