Nigel Farage has called Welsh people “Foreign speakers” in a Cameo video. I hate to break it to you Mr Farage, but if you read a history book you would realise English is more foreign in the UK than Welsh. He said: “Gutted I couldn’t attend the wedding. I wanted to come, but I heard that half the guests were Welsh, and I don’t know. Who knows what would have happened with all those foreign speakers there. I don’t know.” This is at a time that his party are trying to convince people in Wales that they should elect them to the Welsh Parliament. Big credit to the Guardian for breaking this story: theguardian.com/uk-news/ng-int…

Graveyard it is. Derek O’Connor. You should hang your head in shame. What. A. Bad. Ride. Jeriko Du Reponet, never put in the race, never given a chance to win, went from mid div up the inside going well to bumped about and 12 wide in last. What on earth was that.

I reckon as a gesture of goodwill, all bookmakers should un-restrict accounts for the Cheltenham Festival

@racingblogger Brilliant if bookies are going 5 / 6 places. Ew multiples only way to go. First day used to be tough for extra places

Michael Buckley and I have not surprisingly spent a lot of time soul searching and thinking over Constitution Hills future and have sadly concluded that he will not be running in the Unibet Champion Hurdle the week after next. Last Friday night was for us all a magical occasion and we so appreciated his popularity and the love and admiration everybody showed to Conrad , as he is fondly called here. It was a terrific night for both him, us, and I believe British Horse Racing and we are very aware of the public perception and the possible consequences of running over hurdles and feel it is not fair to ask him and Nico to do it again. He showed on Friday night that he has another career in front of him that could possibly take us all to new playing fields. I would like to thank the thousands of Constitution Hills supporters and admirers that have shared their sentiments with us and advice on how we should proceed, and I would have to say the poll was as near 50/50 as you could get. This is a sad day for a lot of us, particularly the National Hunt fraternity that would have liked to have seen Constitution Hill try to regain his crown and sad for all here especially Nico who has spent so much time trying to iron out our jumping issues. However he leaves the jumping world sound & happy and ready for the next chapter. It has been a staggering journey so far and Michael has had to endure some dark days but of course enjoyed the enormous highs and thrills of an extraordinary horse. Cheltenham have kindly invited Constitution Hill to parade on Champion Hurdle day to give all his National Hunt supporters the opportunity to say goodbye.

So Constitution Hill won’t run in the Champion Hurdle @CheltenhamRaces. Gutted doesn’t come close. Some will be delighted and think job done. Campaign worked. For me it’s utter misery. Remains the greatest I’ve seen. Will horses who have fallen twice now be cast aside? 🏇🤍🖤

@privatevanquish I watch the racing every day and have attended the festival for a long time. From Desert orchids gold cup , rooster booster , Moscow flyer to sprinters comeback! But value is value. Ireland last yr , didn’t miss it that much. Tenerife this. 230 flight. 235 hotel, 5 nights! ☀️🍻

anyone who goes to benidorm instead of cheltenham isn’t a real betting/racing fan, nothing can beat the buzz of the betting ring. especially now the bookmakers are willing to lay a proper bet.

@tony_calvin @AKBets So many previews all starting and following the same pattern. People watch them because they like betting not just horse racing. So a late preview after the weights but starting on the hcaps would be a refreshing change.

Subsequent to the @AKBets pod, a couple of people have been in touch about this Q. One, who is a veteran of the scene, said "no c*** is interested any more" and another said one last week, with 3 very high-profile guests (expensive too, no doubt), only got 55 paying customers.
Joe Gibney@joegibney15

@tony_calvin @AKBets Cheltenham Festival preview nights more than 5 days before the event - an abject waste of an evening with nobody knowing what’s running where? Or to listen carefully for the occasional nugget of information? Or worth going just to treat as a fun night out with fellow fans
