@kmaustinyoung I just work a full Sunday, so it’s usually visits and planning. That way I can take a two day “weekend” either Mon/Tue or Fri/Sat

@mrdavidrowe “That is what our family does.” Yes it’s a bit of obligation but that is not all bad. But I tried not to phrase it as obligation to God cause I frankly don’t know how god feels about church.

So, Christians with children (or wisdom about them), what do you do with the “Why do I have to go to church?” question, without descending to mere obligation?

Overheard some young people talking about their outfits in the dressing room. Person 1: Ew! This dress has pockets! Person 2: Ugh! That’s the worst? Me (to my self): But that makes the dress more awesome!

You can tell a lot about a pastor by the way she walks through doors. She’s usually the first one in, the last one out, and the one who makes sure all the lights get shut off before she leaves.

Can't process how awful it is to lose a child. Then I get to decide whether to sit with that horror a while. Some people don't have that choice.

Sermon title, less grief more glory, but when I wrote the sermon it came out saying grieve as much as you need to. That too will give glory to God.

@aprilfiet Gotta say, in New England I have not see any of these except deviled eggs at a pot luck. It’s bean dishes and pasta salads that show up a lot.
