Took the winter tires off my car ‘cause the flowers were budding and the robins chirping. One week later … false Canadian Spring

Quit judging people based on a moment in time. You don't know them. You don't know how they spend their time. You don't know about the sacrifices they make for their children that aren't apparent from your 45 minute window into their life. We let our kids use our phones to play games or watch shows when we're out for dinner. It's our date night. We also spend 100% of our free time with them. We have no family helping us. No in-laws, no aunts and uncles. We work from home and have been there for our kids since the moment they were born. We did this deliberately, intentionally sacrificing money and career prospects to ensure we had more time with them. My son is 2 grades above in math and reading. Kids are begging to hang out with him because he's smart, funny, social, and a leader. He does breakdance, taekwando, and guitar lessons 5 days a week. He's played hockey, baseball, soccer, and taken MMA and piano classes. He excels in everything he does. And we've been there for every single game, every single practice, and every single class. So yea, he gets to watch YouTube while mommy and daddy discuss grown up things at dinner in public. If I could judge people's lives from a single photograph at dinner, you'd all be alcoholics with poor diets and questionable fashion sense.

@MarkMcGrathCFP Can’t find the article but “allegedly” fitness tools over estimate calories burned by in and around 10% (or worse) even when variables of Basal Metabolic Rate, age, sex etc. are calibrated with honest numbers. The reason is less about tool error and more about customer retention

@squawkfox Lol i don't really trust the calorie calculations here, but even then that's like 1/3rd of my daily intake which is actually quite good! Regardless, better than sitting for that time period

This is why finfluencers are so dangerous. This post, which got a ton of impressions, is badly misleading: -35% tax rate includes both federal and provincial tax -the 14% tax credit is federal only. Every province also provides a tax credit for CPP premiums. Reality is you have a 19%-25% credit. -A $100,000 earner will, in fact, deduct about a quarter of the CPP premium at their Marginal Tax Rate, which I guess is 35%. Rage farming bullshit.

Ill say it again for those in the back you earn $100k, so you pay 35% tax on every new dollar then they take $4,000 for CPP "pension" but only give you a 14% tax credit (but you paid 35% tax) THEN YOU PAY INCOME TAX AGAIN FULL SHOT WHEN YOU RETIRE. Its income taxed twice.
