Last week was my final week at 10x Genomics. It was a great 4.5 years. I'm going to be taking a couple of months off, then in the fall I'll be going back to school (one final time) at UMich to get a PhD in Bioinformatics.

Pro Developers, I frequently get beginners who get demoralized if they can't figure out a bug quickly and easily. Can I get some replies to this with short stories of things that are simple but took you weeks or months (years?) to solve? I'll blog about the best ones.

@lzsthw I only went to IRC after finally narrowing down the problem and running (\= 1 2) in a REPL and getting NIL and thought I was losing my fucking mind.

@lzsthw I finally understood the bug when I posted my code in IRC and someone said "Do you also write Prolog? Because \= is the inequality operator in Prolog." and I was taking a Prolog class at the time.
