@stlily2 But that’s the thing; think of it like the “Great Heathen Army”. historical records say that they hit Egypt first, then the Hittites and Mycenae Greece. Egypt of course was the bread basket of the Mediterranean. They could’ve easily raided for the food and gone from there

@stlily2 Or rather the first instance of a medieval siege tower in the Mediterranean. The same used during the siege of Paris in the 800s. My theory is that that particular ship helped them take Troy, joined the Greeks in plundering it then returned to Scandinavia with tales of riches
