Met alle geopolitieke uitdagingen en dreigingen op en rond ons continent, is het belangrijk dat we als één Europa opereren. De Westelijke Balkanlanden zijn daarom belangrijke partners voor de Europese Unie. Op de EU-Westelijke Balkan Top in Montenegro spraken we vandaag over onze Europese toekomst. Zo werken we samen aan het versterken van de weerbaarheid tegen hybride dreigingen en aan sancties tegen Rusland. Daarnaast is het belangrijk dat deze landen blijven werken aan hervormingen en een sterke rechtsstaat, ook met het oog op de toekomst van deze landen in de Europese Unie. Dit jaar viert Nederland twintig jaar diplomatieke betrekkingen met Montenegro, het gastland van de Top. Een bijzondere mijlpaal, die ook aan bod kwam in mijn gesprek met premier @MickeySpajic en president @JakovMilatovic. We kijken uit naar verdere samenwerking met Montenegro en de andere landen in de Westelijke Balkan.
