My Dad told me one day in a boat off the #Oregon Coast as we tried to get in ahead of a storm. Some people need excuses and reasons. Some people need someone to blame and are worried about who is at fault. That is land thinking. Out here it's about what you do. You don't ask why the storm, Storms happen, they always happen. What you ask is "What am I going to do and is that enough" You can cry and blame all you want, the storm is happy to hear that because the storm is always hungry. You can fight and do your best because the storm is always Hungry. I did my best. We sailed over the Columbia bar when the waves were at the same height as the Jetti. I can still remember looking back and seeing my Dad and His brother laughing at the winds. I think that was the best thing I learned from my Dad. A small man, but the one you wanted to your side when the storm blew in.
