Remember the position the Canes were in when he took over. Jarvis was RFA, Necas was RFA, Pesce, Skjei, Guentzel, Teuvo, Noesen all UFA, Fast injured, and he managed to replace everyone, get well under the cap ceiling, and the Canes now look like they've got a new cup window.

Ronan Seeley was a 7th round draft pick back in 2020. His story is incredible, as he found out about an aortic aneurysm that threatened his hockey career back in 2021
Since being drafted, he won the World Juniors, playing on Canada’s top pair with Owen Power, captained the Everett Silvertips in the WHL, and been a mainstay on the Wolves blueline for 4 years

Canes now have 6 20+ goal scorers (Jarvis, Svech, Aho, Ehlers, Blake, Stank) Staal is at 19 and Hall is at 18. If Staal scores 1 more than the canes have at least 2 20+ goal scorers on each of our top 3 lines. Elite depth.

This is why it's so FREAKING hard to play goalie in the Canes system. The shots are fewer and farther between, but when they come, they are high-quality chances. Our goalies have less time to get the "feel" of the game before having to make tough saves. #CarolinaCulture

...from his linemates; you get the speedy Robinson with Hall and Stankoven (and Robinson's size is additional help for Stankoven in the playoffs) and you get a 4th line that's a pain to play against and that RBA will trust fully in any situation.

Kurban Limatov has been among the best in the MHL this year and could get looks in the VHL/KHL next year in the Dynamo system!
At 6'4" and incredibly mobile, he is a high-upside swing by the Hurricanes. Still a ton of runway left with him. #CarolinaCulture

@emanningwrites Ya necas was good in the playoffs for us. Had some big time plays for sure. Fans need to be able to acknowledge he was a great Cane and also that he’s better off with the avs. Was probably not gonna resign here either. Tough situation

People act like the 23-24 series against the Rangers never happened. Necas was excellent in that series. He also helped Czechia win gold at Worlds in 2024 and played well in the Olympics. He was new to the Avs last season and his playoffs showed that, but he'll be good this year.

As Canes fans, can we stop with Necas's regular season production? That was never the issue in RDU. Let's see if the level up continues when it matters most. His yearly playoff disappearing act got old. When shit got hard, Necas flat out avoided the tough areas of the ice.
