This will be interesting. I personally don’t think they have the stones to enforce this rigorously. Bringing in guys last minute for the Olympics, who didnt play once in the three years leading up to it, was the downfall of the that Olympic cycle. But everyone wanted it. Coaches, management, players, fans. They played their cards and will do it again.

@WitterSR Madden 95 was our college residence game...only game we played. Culminating in me winning the (unofficial) residence championship. Also won the residence ncaa pool that year.....haven't won a single thing since.

NHL 95 was 85% our gaming hours in college and gave me one of those great life lessons. Four evenly matched guys locked away in the dorm, each desperate to outduel the other. Kings court, winner plays again. One figures out forehand/backhand, the other the one timer, the other “the walkout”, all giving short term advantages. Another figures out manual goalie control as a counter. Blackhawks, Red Wings, Rangers…someone on a hot streak gets cocky and thinks they can win with the Leafs. Around and around it goes, hours a day, months on end, trash talking, thrown objects, the occasional fight…iron sharpens iron. University holds a campus wide, single elim tournament and $1K for the winner (a couple hundred enter). To our surprise the four of us throttle all comers. Three make the semis, the 4th missed out only b/c two of us met in the quarters. Student fiends amazed at our spectrum adjacent 95 skills. Move on to city tournies with similar results. If you want to get good at something, surround yourself with people that are good at it and really hate to lose.

I try not to get too worked up over the Rising Stars Game because, well, it's the Rising Stars game... but Shead deserves to be in there. 4th in minutes & 1st in net rating for a team that's 10 games over .500 & 3rd in East. 2nd in NBA in assists off the bench. An egregious snub.

Rookie Collin Murray-Boyles will represent the Raptors in the Rising Stars Game at All-Star weekend. Jamal Shead is not among the sophomores that were voted in by the league's assistant coaches.

Gordon Herbert has to be the most accomplished and decorated Canadian international coach in history at this point. FIBA WC Gold, EuroBasket Bronze, multiple league titles and Coach of the Year honours. Now moving to the EuroLeague to takeover historic German club Bayern Munich.
