My biggest critique about modern Pixar or whatever is that the stories they end up making now tends to boil down to the "lived experience" of an over-achieving kid going to a $30k a semester top animation school at 17 and hired right out of college and moving to California at 21

it was such a surreal time
we all collectively came together and made fun of Sonic's horrific face and 7 years later we have 4 movies with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Metal Sonic and Amy. and somehow they were good enough for Jim to come back for all of them
