My dad is a pro athlete. A professional long distance marathoner. He turns 61 tomorrow
This is something many people are aware of.
Dad has been running for 40+ years.. 1000+ marathons, a good 10-15k at 4AM every day for 40 years without fail, anyone from Bokaro who's been around will tell you who he is.
But what they don't know is how a massive imposter syndrome surrounds him about not being good enough. Dad never went to school, he drovea bicycle and a very old scooter until we got older and got him an Activa.
He couldn't speak English or board a flight or do any cool-dad things with me. We rarely travelled for non religious purpose but I think this is the norm for most hindu brahmin families from Bihar.
But his dad lore is nuts
- ran a 100k save money.
- ran because he didn't like studies
- meditated in jammu most of his teenage life
- became a vegan when he turned 60
- his students died, his trainers died and so did his colleagues. Went from feeling like an imposter for not using steroids to thanking himself every day for not doing steroids
- off sugar for 20 years now
- never did any substances.
- is shorter than me. Can outrun a horse and me
- students played cwg and other games too.
He didn't want me in the playground. Always forced me to study. Which worked but I am now spending my late20s trying to be as legendary as him

Realised a while back that I’m probably as free now as I’ll ever be.
That raised one big question: What can I do now that won’t be possible later?
Living life now by those answers to the maximum extent possible.

Got diagnosed with ADHD today.
At 28 yrs of age.
Feels like a relief to finally understand how my brain functions a little bit.
Never read about it. Don’t know how to find support.
I am seeking professional help but would really appreciate to get introduced to the ADHD community around me.
If you know any resources/community/tools, please share. Thanks, I am doing okay 🙏❤️
