"Lawful kinematics link eye movements to the limits of high-speed perception" now out in @NatureComms: rdcu.be/enLiB! We started this work back in 2016 when Eric Castet & Tamara Watson visited my (then young) lab. Supported by @ERC_Research. Thread below still holds.

Incredibly relieved & happy to share a preprint I've been working on for 7+ years (among other things), a project close to my heart & the foundation of my @ERC_Research grant. My awesome lab members @rolfslab & a sabbatical @DartmouthPBS let me finally put this together. A🧵 1/n

How might our everyday actions change perception? Out today @NatureComms we show that walking rhythmically modulates how sensitive we are to the environment. The latest from my final days as a postdoc with @DAVElab at @UsydPsych OA paper: rdcu.be/dAAgE 🧵 1/7

Out Now: @neuroweber, Kai Görgen, @JoramSoch, @johndylanhaynes, and myself provide evidence that sensory recruitment is NOT driven by imagery-based strategies. Instead EVC decoding is predicted by performance (r = 0.728).

EEG datasets on face recognition contain lots of hidden brain activity from tiny refixations within the face. In this work with @l_spiering, now out in AP&P, we looked at these (micro)saccadic potentials to learn more about face processing.

How cool to see the perception of relations as a @VSSMtg session this year! Excited to learn about the latest results @ #VSS2024. And how better to prepare than to check out @AlonHafri's agenda-setting paper in @TrendsCognSci from just a few years back 👇

Objects have features of their own, but they also appear in relations—they fit into, balance on, and even chase each other. How do we see those properties? Our new @TrendsCognSci paper explores how high-level relations arise in automatic visual processing. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

For those interested in visual short-term memory (VSTM), #EEG, #VR, and their combination: 👉 doi.org/10.1111/psyp.1… 🔎 We explored whether we can use VR🥽 to study EEG〰️ markers of VSTM: CDA and lateralized alpha power. 🫣 Spoiler: both can be measured in a VR setup. (1/6)

So proud to see this published. Discover stimupy – an #openscience Python package to support and automatize creating visual stimuli as used in the study of (early) #visualprocessing. Useful for #psychophysics, computational modeling, and teaching. For details, see this 🧵

@rolfslab @svenohl Nice to hear, and congrats Sven and Martin! This week Johannes Meixner (not on Twitter I believe) has won another one of these prestigious SR research early career awards for the best oral presentation at #ECEM2022, so two of the three winners seem to have a history @unipotsdam
