‼️Please read this op-ed I wrote with Laura Norton-Cruz & former APD Chief Bianca Cross. It's important.‼️ For reasons I cannot fathom, @mattclaman opposes raising the age of consent from 16 to 18. As chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he has frozen HB101 for many months. This is a commonsense bill that passed the House *unanimously*. This change is a top priority for advocates against sexual violence, and will help stop adults from preying on vulnerable youth, many of whom are homeless. Claman has claimed he is holding the bill to be part of an omnibus crime package. This is a clever deception. There is no such bill, and filing a large bill with weeks to go would certainly fail. It's just another way he can kill HB101 without his opposition being clear ⚡️What can you do?⚡️If you agree with this article, please share it and contact Sen. Last week, my post about Boomer life drew some ire from young people who feel we "destroyed the world and their future." (But lots of fellow Boomers liked it!)
So for the young people. Here's a peek at life before the late 70s. The life you DON'T have because of us.
🔹Women were often stuck in secondary roles (you could be a nurse but not a doctor).
🔹Employers could deny a woman a job because “she might get pregnant,” and many had to quit when they did get pregnant.
🔹Birth control was restricted or illegal in many places under the Comstock Law.
🔹A husband couldn’t be arrested for beating his wife; it was a “civil matter.” Marital rape wasn’t even a crime.
🔹Women often needed a male relative to co-sign for a bank account or credit card.
🔹Black Americans in the South lived under Jim Crow. Even after it was outlawed, change was slow.
🔹Gay people could not be openly gay or get married.
🔹Information was scarce. You had to access a big library or buy expensive books. No pulling info up on your phone.
🔹Acquiring skills meant finding someone willing to teach you in person. No YouTube or no AI.
🔹Drive by a river and you’d see pipes dumping bright orange or green factory waste straight into the water. Some toxic landfills were so bad, nothing has ever grown there again.
🔹Heart attack? Often a death sentence. No stents. No pacemakers.
🔹Young men could be drafted and sent to war against their will, then come home to a country that called them baby killers and spit on them.
Here's the thing. Every generation gets handed problems. We addressed these. Now it’s your turn to fix the ones you’re facing.

NEW: Over $50,000 has been raised for a Domino’s delivery driver who went out of his way to get his customer's Diet Coke when he realized that Domino's was out.
68-year-old Dan Simpson of Boise, Idaho has gone viral for his kind act.
"[Dan] had stopped at the store himself to pick up Diet Coke for us. On a busy Friday night. During deliveries. Completely out of his own time and effort," the customers said on GoFundMe.
"[Dan's] been working at Domino’s as a second job for 14 years… and he’s retiring in just a few weeks..."
About $50,000 has been raised for Dan so far.

This 81 year old man is a lifelong Dodgers fan & has been a season pass holder for over 50 years & was just told that he would no longer be allowed to get printed tickets only digital from now on & he’s barely able to navigate a computer & phone.Dodgers aren’t replying to anyone.

A federal judge has ruled that deposition videos of two former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) staffers can remain online, rejecting claims that potential embarrassment outweighed public interest in the case. The former DOGE employees, Justin Fox and Nathan Cavanaugh, testified that they used OpenAI’s ChatGPT to identify grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) they believed violated President Donald Trump’s executive order targeting “radical and wasteful” diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
Determinations of which grants to cut were made by feeding short summaries of projects into ChatGPT and asking the chatbot if there was any connection to DEI, according to discovery materials released by the American Historical Association in March as part of a lawsuit against the NEH. The DOGE employees appeared to rely on the technology to compile a list of 1,477 grants to terminate, nearly every active award made during the Biden administration. The cuts clawed back more than $100 million, nearly half the federal agency’s budget, throwing organizations into turmoil and forcing some projects to shut down.
