@TRACYMOORE66 @Mexico1978R I’m sorry this has got to stop this country is becoming a joke instead of worrying about vapes and climate change get our borders sorted the illegal immigrants out and order restored. Even if it means sacking half the civil service something has to be done and now

Not lived in Sunlun since I left in '87 as, at the time, the town was dead - destroyed by Thatcher. There was no hope. I now come back every couple weeks and how the now city has transformed over the last 5 years has been incredible n so good to see. The pride is back...

Just ignoring labour completely decimating Sunderland for the last 30 year though aye ? A few new buildings and pubs don't make up for years of absolute shite. City centre is still a shit hole with just some nice bits scattered about. The Bridges is a fucking joke as well
Will@sunlunwilll

The regeneration of Sunderland has been brilliant under labour and you’ve voted for reform. It was a local election not a general. Fucking idiots👍

Someone has genuinely voted for Reform in the local elections, because they believe that Reform can bring back Woolworths & Wilkinsons to the city centre.

The general consensus is that areas that voted Brexit are much more likely to be voting Reform & this proves that: Stupidity is for life, not just for Brexit

The Tax Avoiding Rich Leaders of Reform have convinced the poorest people in Britain that it’s other poor people -the young, the sick, the disabled, those on welfare & migrants -who are responsible for why they’re not as Rich as the Tax Avoiding Leaders of Reform #LocalElection

The election of Reform to control #Sunderland Council leaves many of us uneasy — not because democracy has spoken, but because governing is a huge responsibility, especially in a city growing in confidence and hope. The experience of Reform led Durham council has shown how quickly trust can fray when leadership lacks experience or steadiness. There have been many councillors resignations, suspensions and chaos. I hope this won’t be true in our city as in #Durham. Yet democracy asks more of us than complaint. It asks generosity too. For the sake of Sunderland, I can only hope they govern wisely, listen carefully with open hearts, especially to the many vulnerable people in our city, and prove equal to the dignity of the city they now serve. Congratulations and prayers to all those elected, and a very big thank you to all those who have served Sunderland faithfully.

@staggystaggio That’s an excellent statement with so much research, after 50 years of Labour control I don’t think reform will put things right in 12 hours

These have been a very difficult set of elections. I’ve felt that in Sunderland. But the answer is not to turn inwards. It’s to take responsibility, come together & face up to the challenges ahead. Keir has won before, he can win again. We need to deliver change, not chaos.

Reform UK were rejected by more than 70% of voters yesterday, and the media is treating the result as terminal for Labour while almost entirely ignoring the fact that most people said no to the hatred, the division and the bigotry. That is the actual story.

You ain't a British patriot if you're voting for a party who's leaders are owned by foreign billionaires and who dodge British taxes. This should just objectively be a fact
