'I wanna wrestle the best guys.'
Landon Robideau went through the 1, 2 and 4 seeds to get his national title, the most-impressive run of anyone at the NCAA Championships. More ⤵️. pistolsfiringblog.com/i-wanna-wrestl…

@LeeSpencerlee36 They came on when it counted most. Big props to those in the tranches; wrestlers, coaches, staff, support personnel.

@T_Ram133 We have to smarten up and try somewhere people want to go when it’s cold. San Diego, Phoenix, lots of places in Florida, etc.

@JustinJBasch @aaronsimpson I did off your first post. Appreciate these types of graphics! Used it to block out my calendar.

@adamtirapelle @JBthehawkeye Love it! 2 min clip . . . Of a 90 min/2 hr practice. Of a single day. They do it Nov-Mar . . . 5-6 days a week. Soliders

This is a great example of how much harder college wrestling is than most people realize. We see the 7 min match on a Friday night. You don't realize you have to be able to train this hard to be able to execute that 7 min match. Watch 1 college practice and you'll be more impressed than a season of matches.

The most broken thing in college athletics is athletic departments. Wasteful, bloated, and masquerade as a business only get public funding and don't pay taxes. Ever increasing headcount to fill non-essential roles. Valued and compensated on the success of 1 or two sports. Nothing could be more broken than the college athletic administration system. We've turned that into a way for people to live off of college sports.

We talk about problems in wrestling. This is the most broken thing in the sport right now, IMO. Some conference and NCAA tournaments are big revenue generators. Duals that directly benefit the programs, don’t make much in a lot of places. I don’t know how you fix it.

And don't try coming at me saying wrestling doesn't make money here. Wrestling programs don't, the tournament does. Around 5,000 people a session averaging probably $50 a ticket for four sessions. The tournament itself brings in money.

@JustinJBasch @MatScouts1 Dear 5lb 6oz Baby Jesus, I just want to thank you for getting us to this week once again. It’s been a long 12 months but you allowed us to persevere 🙏
