@booklov78 @golikehellmachi One semi-conspiratorial idea is that the banks that did the lending will be more inclined to write off some (maybe large) portion of the debt in exchange for him selling other assets to pay that off. Since the bank can't sell the debt off easily if things are in the toilet.

If I am a person who enjoyed BC calculus in high school but has not studied math since then but might be interested in learning some math because learning is cool and fun... what should I... do?

I was an SRE at a company where 50% we're laid off. Very terrible thing made tolerable by being in it together with the remaining team, and it being unavoidable. If the owners had done it intentionally I would have quit.

I made this exact custom response, and it got 1 person who became angry and deleted it. Which was funnier than the bot response.
