For the first time in Ukraine’s history, the courage of our warriors and the resilience of our people are sufficiently armed to defend against Russian strikes. This is not the first time Russia has come to destroy Ukrainian statehood and freedom. But now Ukrainians are in a stronger position than ever before – stronger than in 2014, stronger than in the 20th century, and stronger than at any earlier time. This is a historic achievement of our state – Ukraine has withstood a full-scale war and is defending itself with dignity, with modern capabilities, and with the ability to take the war onto the enemy’s territory – into Russia. Today, I presented state awards to the workers of Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex, the manufacturers of our weapons, of our protection, which is essential to ensuring Ukraine’s independence.
