NEW: Two Qatari LNG tankers attempted to exit Hormuz this morning, the first laden LNG cargoes to try since the war began. They reversed course hours later and returned to the Persian Gulf, per Bloomberg.
The Al Daayen and Rasheeda loaded LNG in Qatar in late February. They idled in the Gulf for over a month as Hormuz stayed closed. The Al Daayen was signaling China as next destination.
Both vessels turned around before reaching the Strait.
Qatar normally supplies a fifth of global LNG. Ras Laffan, the country's main export plant, has been shut for over a month due to Iranian attacks.
Qatar tried to move gas this morning and could not. That is the real status of the Strait.
