@theEconBlog most people dont realize how accessibility dependent the digital world actually is until something forces them to

AI is much more powerful in the digital world than the physical world right now. But if you lose any part of your vision, you rediscover how much harder it is to navigate the digital on screen world than the physical world.

My coworker is 32 he makes 108K per year. He has 130K in his Roth- IRA. 78K in his taxable account. Has 3 kids. Wife just quit her full time job to be a stay at home mom. He feels stressed. What would you recommend to do? Just kidding I made this one up too!

I was sitting in the ER yesterday, beside a larger lady. She took out some salty snacks like chips to eat and was breathing heavily while eating. I later overheard her telling the nurse she had breathing issues for a while and some other health issues. I know there are people who have poor regular eating habits, but this seems next level. I enjoy snacks too, but if I'm sick I'd avoid them like the plague. There seems to be a good amount of people who legitimately do not understand how bad processed foods are for you. I think they think that any food is food, and as long as it's not immediately harming you then it's ok.

@theEconBlog The Canadian health system is good if you are diagnosed with a serious or life-threatening sickness or cancer. Anything else, you'll be at the bottom of the waiting list.

I took my first sick day ever today to spend the day at the ER. Between Canada's long wait times and US's exorbitant prices, I'm still back and forth on which one's worse. It's true we pay for it in taxes in Canada, but lets not pretend how healthcare isn't the biggest US government expenditure too. And while wait times sucks, worrying about how many thousands of dollars you're going to pay out while in the hospital sucks too, even if you saved and preplanned for it.

@GrindeOptions Mostly I think. Israel is more than happy to go scorched earth on Iran while the US still wants to maintain the global supply chain.

Healthcare is one thing I do agree to have public funding. Some individual costs would go a long way to prevent abuse from freeloaders. It is one of those things that you don't just 'choose' to buy, unfortunate things sometimes happen. But the fraudsters and abusers in the system are the ones that really ruin it for everyone.

@theEconBlog This is why I’m glad I didn’t live in a place with free healthcare and why I find free healthcare to be ridiculous Because all that happens is freeloaders make the service worse for the average person

@RTNToronto Unfortuante for the homeowner, he's likely to face charges and investigations, which (even if eventually dropped) amount to penalizing self-defense.
