As I pointed out in my column last week, most of the most vocal Michkov supporters on here get actively mad at the professional media for not asking enough Michkov questions/not focusing enough on his ice time.
We're getting hit from two sides here and it's nuts.

Social media is not The Media. There is a difference! Feel like a lot of people in hockey seem to read stuff on Twitter/X and think, "Oh, there goes THE MEDIA again."
It's not! Most of that is fan-driven. The media doesn't control the fans.

As someone who was front and center at both of these... The Couturier/Michkov thing was not media driven -- at least not by those that show up to the room and cover the team every day. Sean himself even joked about that aspect of it. As for MM -- I asked the question about that incident during the Rangers game, and followed up with another. If I didn't, I know another reporter was going to. And yes, he's going to continue to be a major topic moving forward.

I don’t know if they’ll make a change or not. But when they replaced Desai with Patricia they had Desai do his regular media availability in the week leading up to the next game, and the switch wasn’t reported until the day of the game.

Remember how many times they turned the ball over in 2023 when their season crashed? “We've been doing a good job at taking care of it for the last two years and it's been pretty sustainable so far. We’ve just got to continue that. Like I've said to you guys, you want to be able to be explosive, too, but our [goal] first and foremost is [to] always win that turnover battle.
