@LT_Aust We installed solar on the roof. It is saving us about 100 dollars a quarter. We paid 8k for the system. At this rate, it will take over 20 years to pay for itself. Just in time to be replaced. Right now, I feel like we have been scammed.

In March last year I came across an engineer who was being relocated to Melbourne to work on the Govts renewables infrastructure roll out. I thought I’d ask the question, “how long before our power bills start to come down”? His response was, “not anytime soon”. I then asked, “what are we looking at, another year, two, three, four or fives years” He responded with “look well beyond five years”. 🤔 Try asking the same question to a Labor or Greens Politician and see what response you get. #Auspol

@Nittany1988 Since I knew all of the people you name - and you don’t - I actually am aware of why each of them were replaced (not fired). And I can say you have no idea as to what you’re talking about.

@sueytweets It's baffling, isn't it? Folk who at sometime in their life required and received empathy, now it's completely absent, replaced with malevolent jealousy. Who did this? How did we get here? Tragic.

When Niki Savva is Roasting You, You’re Cooked Most of the #MSM spend their days carefully balancing on the fine line between journalism and LNP stenography, but every now and then, someone breaks ranks and tells a few inconvenient truths. Enter Niki Savva, who just torched Peter Dutton harder than a malfunctioning nuclear reactor—whether she meant to or not. Noisy review of #NikiSavva article in SMH "Opinion | Trump’s re-election has enabled Dutton the chance to play his role of a lifetime" Savva isn’t exactly some radical lefty. She’s been around politics long enough to know the game, and she’s spent plenty of time giving the LNP the benefit of the doubt. But even she couldn’t ignore Dutton’s absolute joke of a campaign—a policy-free, grievance-driven, sycophantic cosplay of Donald Trump’s worst impulses. Let’s break this down: Dutton’s Greatest Hits: A Playlist of Failure 🔹 LUCK, NOT SKILL – The only reason Dutton is still standing is because no one has forced him to do his homework. He’s coasted on media complicity, grievance politics, and the idea that people stopped caring about policies long ago. That’s why his economic plan is just a vibe and his energy policy is just nuclear fan fiction. 🔹 LITTLE SIR ECHO – His first reaction to Trump’s re-election? “Very happy.” Because what else would he be? The man is a Trump groupie. A cheap knockoff, a servile tribute act, bending over backwards to copy the worst parts of American politics. 🔹 “LABOR IS OBSESSED WITH CULTURE WARS” – Says the man who spent Australia Day stoking division, attacking Indigenous people, and personally deciding who was and wasn’t fit to attend Auschwitz memorials. Dutton has all the depth of a Facebook comment section. 🔹 NUCLEAR BULLSH*T – Claims his fantasy reactors will slash power bills by 44%—only to admit they won’t even exist for a decade. He might as well promise free unicorn rides. 🔹 “COSTINGS? LOL, WE’LL FIGURE IT OUT LATER” – Dutton’s FBT tax cut could cost $10 billion per year, but he says it’ll only cost $250 million. This isn’t an economic policy—it’s a drunken guess on a pub napkin. 🔹 TOO SCARED FOR SCRUTINY – Why hasn’t Dutton faced the #NationalPressClub? Because he knows he’d get grilled like a #Bunnings sausage. His Insiders interview already showed him falling apart under pressure, so his strategy now is to avoid real questions and hope the Murdoch machine carries him over the line. Savva didn’t set out to completely disembowel Dutton, but the facts did it for her. And she’s right—Dutton is banking on Australians being stupid. He’s running a campaign of dog-whistles, fear, and Trumpian nonsense, hoping no one notices that he has nothing to offer but ginned-up outrage and broken math. But the real kicker? Even the LNP’s own people aren’t convinced. Savva points out that historically, oppositions in Dutton’s position have been in a much stronger spot—but he’s still floundering. Why? Because even in this moment of peak political cynicism, most Australians aren’t dumb enough to fall for the Trump-lite routine. Dutton wants to be Trump. He thinks he’s a strongman. But in reality? He’s just a bald, desperate man worshipping at the feet of a deranged reality TV host—and hoping Australians are too distracted to notice. Not this time. The article can be found at the Sydney Morning Herald if you want to pay, which most won't and that's why SMH is struggling because it's highly paid, head in the sand executives are too dumb to find a way to monetise without subs. Dim fkrs.

@parkerworth I really noticed this in the public WCs at my then work headquarters in Houston. I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing. Coming from Australia, it seemed like a deliberate "prevention of privacy" to me. What for?

8. The public bathroom gap. Those inch-wide gaps in public bathroom stalls seem specifically designed to make awkward eye contact with strangers. It always makes bathroom trips extra interesting.

@Cormac_McCafe We have to be aware of why this is so. What's true is a relevant majority votes her back in each time she contests an election. Oblige my segue here, in reference to Albo buying his home last year Bernard Keane opined "we are a pissant polity". E. G. see above re Hanson

I just checked the bag of Aldi pistachios and they are from the USA so that's the last bag I'll buy. And my walnuts come from California specifically but I'm not yet aware of the horrors there
Amy Sterling Casil@ASterling

But the Wonderful Company Resnicks are feeding people ... the pistachios are ... primarily being exported overseas The water is used and the land exploited in California's Valley, but land and crops that fed people in the U.S. were destroyed for crops that only benefited 19 🧵

Green hydrogen is China's next overnight game-changer greentech segment. I slept on it for a long time, because the applications for hydrogen-to-power are very underwhelming, but turns out the real big deal is things like green methanol and ammonia. 🧵 maersk.com/news/articles/…

@Cormac_McCafe Trying to imagine any #auspol25 delivering such a speech (as provided further in that tweet) let alone on a BMX. Reccomended.

@Cormac_McCafe You should go for sure. I travelled through Ireland a bit in 96, I remember Galway, Black Valley, Donegal, Connemara. This was in November, so not the best weather. I need to go back in the Summer, I think. But highly recommended.

I just do not understand a certain section of the public's dislike of Pat Cummins. He just comes across as a genuinely good person. His teammates clearly love him. I think we are lucky to have him. #AUSvIND

🤓 in just 6 years, australia's two main grids added 51 TWh/yr of wind+solar generation. …from 19.9% → 38.8% renewables. …equivalent to 6.6 large nuclear reactors, but much lower cost & much faster. even more impressive given there's no chance of nuclear here for 20+ years.
