I really don’t like the notion that exposed track = bad/not immersive because we’ve had multiple themed coasters with exposed track in the past and even now that are able to tell an immersive story and/or look visually stunning on a park’s sight line.

This is not a good look for the portals.
This may be for either:
- Early Entry guests - scanners out for 1-2hrs
- After hours events
The PORTALS are where the theming and immersion BEGINS. It's part of the experience of Epic Universe. They need to be clear for wow factor.

They dismissed the open hub idea over a decade ago and made changes to the park since then.
People are acting like it’s a crazy idea because it’s a stupid idea.

Hilarious seeing all the people outraged about this as if this wasn't one of Universal's original plans for the park long before it opened.
The entire reason Celestial Park looks like it does and is designed like it is, is due to the fact that Creative had the idea of an open hub / public area early in development.
It's the entire reason the portals exist at all. Its the entire reason each land is one way in one way out.
I guess it IS surprising if you hadn't been following every single detail about the park's development across the years. I'm not knocking anyone for that, but once you take one look at the overall design of the entire park with this in mind it becomes clear.
