@the_real_reason Absolutely garbage of a pick. This pick is an indictment on their judgement.

Was Caleb Douglas a bunt or a single cause I don’t even know if I’d call that a “double off the wall” as Sully puts it 😂 #PhinsUp

@the_real_reason And of we are sorta forced to pick between those two (or something similar) wouldn’t trading down from 11 make more sense depending on the compensation. We need more picks. And there are valuable dudes to be taken later we need: Bisontis, TJ Parker, corner.

A little over 24 hours away this is what my gut is telling me at #11… If one of: Caleb Downs, Sonny Styles, Francis Mauigoa, Rueben Bain Jr. and Mansoor Delane are on the board, that will be the pick. If those four are gone: I think it’s going to be Keldric Faulk or Spencer Fano. Faulk is probably more in play at #11 than #30 because I don’t think they expect him to be there. He’s also going to be the 4th EDGE off the board behind Reese, Bailey and Bain Jr. Expanding further on my thoughts with Faulk - I think he checks more boxes for Sullivan and Hafley than Fano does. He’s got the length, the athletic traits, he’s one of the best edge setters in his class that just needs pass rush development compared to Fano who has major length and anchor questions that have people questioning whether he’s a tackle, guard or center long term. And ask yourself - if Fano’s long term play is on the interior at Guard if he builds out his functional strength or at center, what’s more valuable at #11 - that or a guy who can become a three down EDGE player? Don’t get me wrong - I’m on record saying I like either Fano or Faulk in a trade back, no issues but at #11 it becomes a dicey conversation to take EITHER one of those guys. My sleeper at #11 is Monroe Freeling. I just think he’s a high upside pick, like Kadyn Proctor, the NFL may be higher on him than social media is and he can be your long term replacement for Austin Jackson (Freeling had 286 RT snaps at Georgia) without the length or anchor issues while he also had elite testing and we know they love their elite testing. #PhinsUp
Reason@the_real_reason

If Downs, Mauigoa, Styles & Bain Jr. are gone, the top 5 players I want at #11 if no trade back is available: • Olaivaveva Ioane, OG, Penn State • Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee • Kenyon Sadiq, TE, Oregon • Mansoor Delane, CB, LSU • Monroe Freeling, OT, Georgia I like guys like Tyson, Lemon, Proctor, Fano, McNeil-Warren and Thieneman in a trade back scenario but like I stated, that’s off the board in this situation. #PhinsUp

@EliteMarino Yet the one position we have ZERO dudes right now (Savaii doesn’t count) is at G. And this draft is as thin at it gets for the kinda G Slovik wants. Vega, Bisontis, and Farmer. And that is it. The deeper in the draft the less our chances to land a true starter. Vega is the pick.

EliteMarino’s DO draft list at #11: • Mansoor Delane • Rueben Bain Jr. • Francis Mauigoa • Keldric Faulk • Caleb Downs • Monroe Freeling • Blake Miller Come away with one of those, I’m happy.

@EliteMarino @1KFLeXin Thank you. Chop is undersized and not a fit for Hafley’s. He will be a 3rd down rusher at best, can’t set the edge.

@1KFLeXin Hard disagree. We have the worst edge group in the league, oline outside of Brewer/Paul is trash. Also a Packers regime, would be surprised if they go WR that early, I think #30 is more realistic.

Im anti ANY trenches picks at 11, 30, or 43. The Dline already has Kenneth Grant, Chop, and Sieler. The O-line is good enough, and Malik can move. No more forced trenches picks! WE NEED TALENT We got Tolbert at WR1 and a couple of created players at corner. SKILL PLAYERS ONLY.

@1KFLeXin Chop with Haf’s scheme is a 3rd down rusher. We have ZERO guards, you can get Randy Moss in his prime and he wouldn’t get the ball bc the QB would be dead. Last time picked a WR (Waddle) over T (Sewell) was a huge mistake.

@lookingglass401 @DolphinsTalk Not my point. Miami doesn’t need to move up from 30, they need to accumulate more picks if they’re letting go of a player under rookie contract. Keep 11 & 30 plus Ravens picks.

@flasportsbuzz To me it’s very telling who they’ve signed so far: WR Edge. They’re not picking a WR early. At best they’re picking Sarratt at 75. They are however picking TEs, plural. Chop is gone he doesn’t fit Haf’s, Uche and Ojabo are his replacements and they will pick one in the draft.

Though Dolphins GM Sullivan indicated Fins won't be spending a ton on vets to fill needs after the draft, I learned last 2 days that they've kept in touch with and shown interest with a couple of top remaining free agents if price comes down. While I'll be somewhat surprised if materializes, they don't leave any stone unturned.

@WilhelmFootball @HussamPatel We gotta make that trade up from 30 to 14 with BAL by shipping undersized Chop. He is not a fit for us but he is for their 4-3 new wrinkle. At 11 one of the blue chip players falls to us or we trade down for a ransom. At 14 we take Vega.

One thing that keeps brining me back to pick #11 for Miami is Spencer Fano. While Bobby Slowik didn’t call plays in Miami he did have a hand in structuring plays and the run game really was working with McD’s concept but the pass game wasn’t. Slowik in Houston had one of the most aggressive zone run frequencies in 2023/2024. Austin Jackson needs to show he can be healthy- he hasn’t except for one season. Secondly, do they trust Salyer and Jonah to beef up the RG spot? When you’re running OZ you need a tackle or guard that reach the play side 3 tech/5 tech for the concept to work. They have to be able to bend and meet them right in the hole otherwise the play is over. Fano in my opinion is the best pure zone OT in this class and pair that with a 4.67 shuttle time that is some elite agility. He is what I would say a perfect scheme fit in Miami and my pick for #11

@WilhelmFootball @HussamPatel I agree with you. At first I liked the prospect of Fano but the anchor issue is a thing. Small hands too, short arms so not as versatile as thought. He projects as a center. Vega is the better prospect, we must fill G bc Savii sucks.

@the_real_reason @PhinsideTheNFL I do but I found it is a good exercise to cross check with AI, it does add another layer of grading your findings. I’ve been watching a lot of Greg Cossell too. Not enamored with this WR class but you can find value late.

Today was Mock Draft Monday on @PhinsideTheNFL to go along with my OG Big Board. The problem with Mock Drafts is I don’t think guys Johnson, Brazzell, Rutledge, Rodriguez, Farmer, Lance or Delp will be available as late as they were for me. That said, I love this haul. #PhinsUp Full Show Here: youtu.be/4XcjNvaxViQ

@the_real_reason @PhinsideTheNFL I find Kendrick Law fascinating for Slovik’s. He would be Deebo-lite wrinkle, WR3 kinda guy. Jet sweeps, slot, motions. Sarratt the routing specialist, Smith size/speed deep threat. Add Achane, Nowakowski in that Juszczyk TE/FB hybrid role and honestly how do you stop that?!!

@the_real_reason @PhinsideTheNFL I hear what you are saying but Smith is generational and the crown piece to what they are trying to build: a bruising team. All of my (and ChatGPT agrees more often than not) can block. If Bain falls this is what I have. And ALWAYS making that Baltimore trade to 14.

@the_real_reason @PhinsideTheNFL I like Chop but he was misused and he is not a fit for Haf’s. He is a fit however for BAL, and they need to win now, no time for them to groom a rookie. This is a win-win scenario.

@the_real_reason @PhinsideTheNFL Rodriguez is great but Harold Perkins, Jr can be had later and he is an “elite” fit to play with Brooks in Hafley’s defense. Add Downs and Haulcy, Daylen Everette and Will Lee at CB and oh my.
