That was despite having Raul, Moutinho Semedo and Neves. I think it’s fair to say that Fosun gave Edwards a very different squad to work with.

@Wolves Bournemouth have already hired their new manager, Iraola hasn’t even left yet. That’s how you run a football club, in fairness it’s how you even run a chip shop. Fosun are miles behind, at every level.

@thomdd23 Not a difficult answer that, a manager with a better pedigree & record for a start. Edwards was a desperate second choice Jeff shit appointment after O’Neil turned us down, the fact he appointed him tells you it’s the wrong decision straight away

For a fan base that’s experienced top managers like Nuno, lopetegui & even Lage & O’Neil in recent years, Edwards is getting special treatment for some reason. I’ve never seen a manager defended so much on here ffs, you’d think we’ve got a super coach or pep in charge 😂😂

@daveazzopardi @Nocky1982 I'm one of those critical of him but the last 3 Prem games gives me a little bit of hope we come straight back up But if we are not in the top 3 after 6 games next season then he will have to go He deserves his chance but if we're out the top 3 then someone else will be needed

@Real1_balogun Bruno Lage tried to recall him from Sheff Utd in Jan then rebuild the midfield around him and Neves in that summer, but Morgan wanted to link back up with Cooper, and Fosun saw the £ signs. Unfortunately a lot of Wolves couldn’t see his potential either which didn’t help.

Gibbs-White. Scouted at 8 by Wolves. Discovered by a scout named Brian Punter. Mr. Punter is 90 now. According to Gibbs-White, the scout wasn’t there to see him when he was found. It was an U-10s game for Stafford Juniors and he’s 8. But Mr. Punter’s interest piqued when he heard his parents shouting at him. The agent said he headed the ball like a professional, at 8. And he took him to Wolves afterwards. Gibbs-White spent the next 14 years at Wolves. He’s the first person from Stafford to win a full England cap. His parents were teenagers when they gave birth to him and his Gibbs-White name combines his mother and father’s last names. In his school, it’s said that there were five or six of them who were quite good and coaches thought they could go all the way but he stood out for his mentality. You can still see that mentality now. He doesn’t hide. After making his debut against Chelsea to a standing ovation and a “remember his name” comment from Gary Lineker on BBC’s MOTD, Gibbs-White didn’t start a lot of games with the Wolves seniors. He was loaned to Swansea and Sheffield United and he grew a lot. By the time he was back at Wolves, he was a club’s Player of the Year material. Bruno Lage came in at Wolves and didn’t give him the same regard and that was to Steve Cooper and Nottingham Forest’s advantage. The jewel stayed in the Midlands. Cooper coached him at U-17 when England won that 2017 World Cup. He was also his coach at Swansea. He joined Forest for a fee that’s now generally agreed to be a bargain. When he won his England cap, he became the first Forest player to play for England since Stuart Pearce in 1997. He’s arguably Nottingham Forest’s best player in decades and a man who leads from the front. Should he leave the club as expected at some point, he’d exit as a star and a leader. They rave about him.

@CJ_7171 Nuno also had the luxury of spending £100s of millions, Edwards so far has sold Larsen, and bought Armstrong for 9 million. Now is not the time to be judging his set up in the Championship, that all rests on Fosun actually building a squad for a change.

@thomdd23 We had a lot more threat under Nuno & always looked like scoring. 1 thing’s for sure is that this defensive, PTB style won’t be acceptable in the champ next season, he’ll be under pressure to change & he needs to buck his ideas up attack-wise otherwise he’ll be gone early doors

I told you all this squad was capable of better than it’s been showing, it just needed to be managed properly. RE got it spot on tonight & knew AV under Emery always struggle against a solid back 5. Brilliant result & performance. We can relax now & focus on the FAC #wwfc

@CJ_7171 Yeah it reminded me of vintage Nuno tonight except Rob doesn’t have Raul, Neto, Jota or Adama up front. So let’s be realistic, Liverpool had lost 2 in 22, and we limited them to 3 chances all game. Our subs were spot on as well. Midfield looking well oiled. Let Rob cook. 😂

To date I've been of the view that to replace Rob Edwards couldnt change anything but Id sack him now if only to get somebody who could fire up the players for games like tonight. We're simply giving up.
