6.61% engagement rate. 13.2M impressions. Looks great on paper. But only 0.11% of that audience followed the brand. I worked as an analyst on a consumer brand’s social media data — 1 year, 450 posts, 4 platforms. The budget was spread evenly. The results weren’t.

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀. The data job market didn’t get harder. It got smarter. And most candidates didn’t notice. Here are the 4 layers separating analysts getting hired from analysts getting ghosted — and my honest take on each: 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝟭 — 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 Anyone can tell you retention dropped 12%. The analyst who gets hired tells you why — Is it pricing? Onboarding? A competitor problem? I’ve sat with stakeholders who couldn’t explain what they wanted — not because they didn’t care, but because nobody ever asked the right questions. That’s not a data problem. That’s a thinking problem. 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝟮 — 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 Executives don’t want more data. They want clarity. This is why I teach wireframing before Power BI. The story has to exist before the dashboard. Build first, story second — and you’ll produce something that shows everything and says nothing. 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝟯 — 𝗔𝗜 Most people are using AI to skip thinking. That’s not leverage. That’s dependency. AI amplifies whatever you bring to the table. Sharp thinking becomes dangerous. Lazy thinking becomes confidently wrong at scale. 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝟰 — 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 Nobody is paying you to make pivot tables. They’re paying you to make better decisions under pressure, with messy, incomplete data and no clear brief. This is why I built Operation Clearwater — a fraud investigation case study with a 72-hour deadline and no step-by-step instructions. Because that’s what the job actually looks like. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗱𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁. #Datafam

𝗠𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝗺𝗮. Honestly, that reaction told me everything. Today we covered wireframing in Power BI. The moment I showed them how a wireframe catches gaps before a single DAX measure is written — the questions got intense. One student asked: “So wireframing can actually prevent build problems?” Yes. That’s exactly the point. Most people jump straight into Power BI and start building. Then halfway through they realise: → The layout doesn’t tell a story → A measure they need doesn’t exist yet → The stakeholder wanted something completely different Wireframing fixes all of that before it becomes expensive. Discovery → Wireframe → Data Model → Build → Ship That’s the real Power BI development lifecycle. Not “open Power BI and start dragging visuals.” 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗜 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹. #Datafam

Most of you don’t even know if your analysis is correct or if you even know when your analysis is misleading. All you know is “dashboard”.

I strongly believe that some things are hard to unlearn. For example, hating a group of people because they belong to a certain tribe.

Imagine who's the National Youth Leader of the party that wants to liberate Nigerians. Someone who does nothing but flaunts wealth in a mocking way to the public, and also has no credibility whatsoever. ADC is literally just LP re-brand.
