The Hole (1962) Storyboard, dir. John Hubley Hubley's Oscar-winning anti-war film from the perspective of two construction workers. The dialogue was completely improved by jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie and George Matthews. Pretty sure most of this was done by Bill Littlejohn

"The French Lesson: Conversation", an award-winning Halas & Batchelor ad made for Zizanie produced in the late 60s-early 70s. I'm afraid I can't tell you who animated on this, but the art direction is very striking

Dean Elliott is a guy I consider one of the worst cartoon composers ever ... yet I "love" his work. I'm fascinated by how bad it is in a guilty pleasure sense so, I made this. I call it "The Dean Elliott Super Happy Fun Times". Enjoy!~ (🔈Volume Warning, btw)

Scott Bradley cues from "Cellbound" (1955), dir. Tex Avery & Mike Lah. Bradley was a highly skilled composer and added so much life to the MGM cartoons. His energetic compositions use the same "Mickey Mousing" techniques as Carl Stalling but with his more avant-garde tastes.

Let's do a musical breakdown of Scott Bradley's MGM scores! Starting with, imo, one of his best: the Droopy masterpiece, "Deputy Droopy" (1955) We open with a cheesy scene setter for a western short. The music establishes the local, seniority, and our sleazy villains (1/??)

Isolated Music Cue from "Snoopy Come Home" (1972) The Sherman Bros (with arranger Don Ralke) wrote a more traditional film score that still understands the Midwestern sensibility of Peanuts just in a more "Disney" execution. The usage leitmotifs in this bit are very strong

George Nicholas footage from "The Cat in the Hat" (1971), DFE dir. Hawley Pratt. Allan Sherman's vocal deliveries deserve big compliments. He gives such warmth to his readings. Brian Jay Jones' Seuss biography says Sherman and Ted Geisel got along very well during recordings.
