We launched Bitcoin Day with $1M and a question for our community:
What happens when you reward people for using bitcoin in 2026?
Three days later, over $900k has gone to people buying their first sats on @CashApp, people walking into their local coffee spot and paying with bitcoin at a @Square seller, and people moving their bitcoin off an exchange and onto @Bitkey for the first time — learning what it means to truly own their money.
Bitcoin is over 17 years old. Some of you have been stacking since the early days. This week, you helped onboard the next wave — convincing your favorite local shop to accept bitcoin, sending sats to a family member who'd never held any, showing someone how self-custody works.
This is how the ₿ network grows.

Hey @jack amd @milessuter I've been running around getting merchants onboard with their bitcoin and it occurs to me for newbs they see this.... and say I got 2k Bitcoin?!?! So I thought to myself they don't even understand sars yet BUT much like dollars and cents its not hard...we traditionally place the $symbol the same way BEFORE the number and cents symbol after. How about if its less than 0.001 bitcoin we just use a small letter b AFTER to show small payments (like cents) and if over 0.001 it can show as now with big B before?? Something like that? Maybe?

We’re seeing a lot of excitement around the @Square bitcoin payments announcement. Just to clarify what's actually rolling out and when: On Monday, 100% of newly onboarded, eligible U.S. sellers were enabled by default (when using payments). For existing sellers, we’re starting with a smaller (though very sizable) cohort and expanding gradually. While our recent TOS update gives us flexibility to scale over time, we’re intentionally rolling this out in phases to ensure a smooth experience for our sellers. As I said earlier in the week, we only have one shot to do this right and we are doing it very intentionally 🫡
