Small fandoms feel like a cozy kitchen with your closest friends, and big fandoms feel like a huge convention or a concert. It’s great when your favorite fandom gets bigger, but you still miss the old feeling sometimes

I feel comfortable in small fandoms, but when a fandom grows in popularity, I start to feel afraid of getting lost in it—of becoming a shadow among so many talented people. The sense of comfort and significance fades away. Do you feel that too sometimes?
