BREAKING: Senator Tim Scott just officially announced his bid for President today, and with the endorsement of a fellow Senator John Thune, whose endorsement may signal a movement away from party leader Donald Trump. The problem is, Tim Scott cannot name a single policy difference with Trump. The South Carolina Senator supports national abortion bans, making painful cuts to Social Security and Medicare, and he even supports bills that would ultimately lead to banning certain types of birth control. Scott has run for President before, but has never polled above single digits. His supporters claim that. because of his race, he could peel away some Black voter support from the Democratic party. But the Democratic party has traditionally enjoyed a commanding margin of support from Black voters, easily in the 80s and 90s.
