@CovLordMayor The news from South Korea is so sad for all those involved. All the fundraising for 18 months to raise the money to get the Scouts there and now they are being pulled from the Jamboree as it isn’t safe. Why did the UK Contingent let them on site if it wasn’t safe 48 hours later?

On 18th July the Lord Mayor hosted a group of Coventry Scouts prior to them going to the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea. The scouts were shown around the Council House and spoke to the Lord Mayor about their upcoming trip where they will be representing Coventry.

@UKContingent Well this wouldn’t have happened if the Guides has organised it. They managed to send our daughter safely to Uganda on an expedition. Scouts managed less than 48 hours on camp. Sort it out. You have let these young people down.

@UKContingent Hardly an “incredible show” having to evacuate th all out after 48 hours on camp. Such a disappointment and certainly not what they all paid for and gave up hours of their time. Might br sensitive to have told parents before the news broke and to take these photos down.

@scouts @BearGrylls If it was that bad before they went why didn’t the Scouts organising committee have the guts to call it before they went. Now they will have had to be moved twice in 48 hours. Hardly “being prepared” or good planning and management.

@scouts @BearGrylls What about the 1000s volunteers that have up so much time to reside money ti get the young people there. Are they getting a refund for a jamboree that the young people didn’t get to attend?

@ruskin147 Meet Bella and Inger (Romanian for Angel) ours dogs from Romania. Bella had a foster home before coming to us but still spent three days sat on the front door mat. We all love Sophie. She will get there in her own time.
