Yesterday our team had courtesy visits to our fellow movement comrades and feminist sisters, WONETHA and LMEC. This was to discuss the ongoing new HIV biomedical interventions and innovations such as the Lenacapavir—which will be launched and rolled out officially in April. Health workers and Peers from our sister organizations also joined us to share their experiences and insights on effective scaling up of HIV services, knowledge and information among trans women selling sex And their clients in the hotspots of kawempe division. Big up to TASO

TUSIMBUDDE!💃🏻With support from @Taso Uganda through MARPI, TAI-UG conducted an orientation training of our rights holders in the hotspots of Kawempe division to address the HIV prevalence on demanding and utilization of HIV services among trans women sex workers.

Last week we joined our partners at @UgandaTrans and NTF to identify and map our SRHR priorities in the state of the current SRHR for TGs in all their different diversities. We also laid out collective responsibilities as trans organizations towards shaping the a just free SRHR.

UNESOs Message in Commemoration of 3rd March International Sex Workers' Rights Day under the Global Theme "Labour Rights." In Uganda, sex work and sex workers’ workplaces are excluded from national labour laws, which creates an environment where sex workers have no option but to accept exploitative working conditions and other targeted human rights violations. The struggle for the recognition of sex work as work is closely tied to the struggle for decriminalisation. Decriminalising sex work means that sex workers will no longer be treated as criminals. It brings sex work within a Human Rights framework, enabling sex workers to claim their fundamental rights to health, equality, and freedom from violence. It also ensures they have access to the same labour law protections that all other workers in Uganda are entitled to. #RightsforAll #Decrim #SexWorkisWork
