@Hethrin I will say I think AoT gets a bit heavy handed with its themes as it goes on but they are very weighty themes to be fair. S3 part 1 was where in the manga a lot of people dropped, myself included when I was reading, but S3 part 2 is the actual peak of the show imo

@trichromanic Vinland Saga cured me of my Attack on Titan depression at how the story devolved. It's literally the polar opposite.

So, since I've actually watched a fair bit of anime in the past few years(more than I have in recent memory) here are my top five that I've watched: 5. Attack on Titan(but only season 1 and 2) 4. Spy x Family 3. One Punch Man 2. Assassination Classroom 1. Vinland Saga

@Hethrin Assassination Classroom is a great show, one of Bess’ favorites. Spy x Family has a great premise and was really entertaining at the start but then I feel like it got too episodic to keep up the momentum? we haven’t finished season 1 and haven’t had much urge to go back to it

@Hethrin True, OPM is just a straight up parody and doesn’t really try to be anything else

@trichromanic I guess my issue is that since Mob Psycho is trying to be more dramatic than an parody, the emotional beats just don't land for me, since the story goes way too quickly to register as anything other than a parody.

So...having finally watched the first season of Mob Psycho, my brother was right. Arataka Reigen's method of 'bs'-ing his way through things is definitely how I would handle it lol.

@Hethrin Mob has more heart in my opinion, as a show and a main character. Saitama just does his thing but Mob is continually trying to grow and be a better person. I do think season 2 is where Mob really takes off though.
