Which Layer Weakens First When Activity Slows Down on StandX ? The economic layers within StandX operate inside the same ecosystem, but they are not driven by the same source. That difference determines which layer feels the impact first when overall activity begins to slow. SIP-3 is directly tied to the net trading fee flow generated on the Perps side. When Perps activity declines, the amount of fees generated also falls, reducing the flow directed into the Settlement Pool. Because of this, SIP-3 can react to changes in Perps activity more quickly than the other layers. SIP-2 works differently. Its distribution is tied to open positions that meet the eligibility requirements. Even if overall activity decreases, SIP-2 does not disappear as long as qualifying positions remain open. However, when the system experiences lower trading activity, lower fee generation, and lower participation over time, this layer can also contract. The impact is less direct and tends to appear more gradually. Base Yield relies on a different mechanism. Because it is built around a delta-neutral structure, short-term changes in Perps activity do not affect Base Yield as directly as they affect SIP-2 or SIP-3. There is no direct link between Perps trading volume and Base Yield performance. As a result, different layers respond differently when activity slows down. SIP-3 can feel the effects more quickly because of the source it depends on. SIP-2 may experience the impact more gradually. Base Yield operates with a greater degree of separation from Perps activity. This distinction helps explain why the economic layers within StandX do not move in lockstep. 6/6 Conclusion Reading SIP-1 Block Trade only as a tool for large players would be incomplete. StandX does not put execution, settlement, risk validation, and price discovery into the same bucket. It treats them as separate layers of perp market architecture. This distinction may not be obvious to smaller traders at first glance. 5/6 Block Trade is a two-sided mechanism. That means a counterparty still needs to exist. If there is no match, the order does not automatically fall back into the standard order book flow. The Block Trade remains open. The maker can close it before the block is fully matched. Otherwise, it automatically closes once the selected expiration time ends. Mode selection also matters here. In Instant/Flexible mode, matches can be settled independently as they arrive. In FullMatch mode, settlement does not begin until the block is 100% matched. So “a large order was opened” does not always mean “a position was definitely opened.” #StandX
