@beastoftraal There are very few Kannadigas in Bengaluru. It's full of people from Hindi speaking states. BLR is geographically in south India, but has become a north Indian city. Naturally people there'll recognise Tripti Dimri more easily than Rukmini Vasanth. It's just horses for courses.

When I saw TOI Bengaluru's front-page ad, I assumed that Tanishq had chosen Tripti Dimri as their model for all of India. But TOI Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi have Rukmini Vasanth. Rukmini is a Bengaluru hudugi and her primary claim to fame was Kannada cinema (though she is moving to other film industries at the same time)!! Shouldn't Rukmini be the default choice for Bengaluru?
