It does bother me that it costs money to code now

so fast it feels surreal, like peering into a different world

A breakthrough in real-time video generation. As a research preview developed with @NVIDIA and shared at @NVIDIAGTC this week, we trained a new real-time video model running on Vera Rubin. HD videos generate instantly, with time-to-first-frame under 100ms. Unlocking an entirely new creative paradigm and bolstering the foundations of our General World Model, GWM-1. Real-time generation opens a fundamentally different design space for video models and world simulation. We're investing in co-designing our models alongside advances in hardware to keep pushing this frontier.

Hey, some personal news: Slowly but surely, pizza is being dethroned as my favorite food by half a roast chicken. Thank you.

Yes. One of the biggest lessons for me in past few months: Many problems disappear when you assume that the models just get smarter, a lot. Extreme example: you don't need constant feedback loops, when you never make mistakes.
Simon Willison@simonw

A short note that the predictions that LLMs would favor "boring technology" that's over-represented in the training data don't appear to be playing out as expected with the latest models - once you attach them to a good coding agent harness at least simonwillison.net/2026/Mar/9/not…

Probably a security nightmare but I think there’s a lot of value in automating 99% of this

@leerob @BenjaminDEKR I think the point is that this should be the default I tried Cursor _properly_ for the first time a few weeks ago and I felt the UX was really poor out of the box. I’m sure you can tweak it to work, but right now it tries to be both an agent-manager and an IDE - and its too much

@mitsuhiko @thorstenball we have always been the bottleneck to be fair. I think we will look back and realise how terrible humans were (on average!) at building software

CanvasKit is very good and AI Agents love it. This is also how we built Amp Tab in VS Code - generating transparent images of diffs that can be rendered anywhere
kabir@KabirGoel

this would've been overkill 1y ago but @vercel/og (lib for generating rich social previews for webpages) doesn't allow custom font features, which we use in our brand so i had Claude write a custom renderer using canvaskit-wasm @vercel/og left, Claude right (note the a's)

Opus 4.6 reminds me of Sonnet 3.7. Very good, but over eager to skip over stuff to get to the final result. (If anyone remembers trying to get Sonnet 3.7 to fix tests… that was not fun)
