There's an old saying in Schelling—I know it's in Hegel, probably in Schelling—that all great world-historic facts and personages appear, so to speak, twice. He forgot to add: the first time as... as... tragedy... the second time as... as... it's funny if it happens again

@BRyvkin "Why it and not WWII continues to be referred to as The Great War." I find it amazing that you don't know the answer to this.

@Susu_Wuu @Ray_the_rice we were discussing the meaning, i continued to do so! i did nothing to ‘fuck with you’ whatsoever. i apologize for upsetting you. i don’t understand how it happened, but it wasn’t my goal.

@Susu_Wuu @Ray_the_rice I think in either interpretation, the sense is of dread uncertainty and fear, of not really knowing and not really being in control, so half light fits either way. Half light being associated with repression of memory and emotion also fits both of our interpretations.

@unexploring @Ray_the_rice Half-light is a very dark skill (bruh). It's like a repository of all the traumas, fears, and worst things that happenin in Harry's head, everything he pushes away. And it's him speaking in this situation, not Inland Empire, Volition or Empathy, or any other skill

@Susu_Wuu @Ray_the_rice could you say more about how those support your reading? i’m genuinely interested but it feels like a massive character decision that is nowhere else referenced or supported as far as i recall.

@unexploring @Ray_the_rice It's... yeah, that makes sence, actually. I find this unlikely due to skill choice, emphasis and context, but yeah, that's also reasonable

this entire tablet article is an endorsement of blood and soil nationalism and, no joke, an explicit endorsement of The Volk as the basic building block of statehood. as I've been saying: zionsim is an antisemitism parapraxismagazine.com/articles/eleme…

Why does Zionism provoke such fury in the West? Because it offers something many societies have forgotten how to build: a confident nation with a shared story and a shared future. Yes, Zionism can be for you, too.

This young woman might now die. For what? She beat the odds, fought against tyranny, secured her education and we’ve kicked her right back down. Can anybody in @ScottishLabour explain why she should be left ti the Taliban?
Asylum Matters@AsylumMatters

"Britain has decided that the girl who fought the Taliban’s agenda, who learned English in secret, who turned down a forced marriage, who won her place, is an asylum risk. Her name is Bahar. She is 18 years old. She did everything we asked of her." independent.co.uk/news/people/ne…
