In our new chapter as Untold, we have a new vision statement guiding our work: "We believe in a world where no story is cut short or silenced by AIDS."
Jen is a single mom who started to lose her eyesight when she was 16 years old. A doctor once promised her sight, but the surgery he performed made her eyesight worse. By the time she came to the CARE for AIDS center, she could only see through a small pinhole.... #LifeBeyondAIDS
We've learned that impact doesn't end with the individual. For every graduate of an Untold program, there are families and children who are also affected. Integrated care for one person can have a positive impact on generations.
You may have noticed a slight change in our mission statement—the absence of the word "empower."
This new wording more accurately describes what we do: we embrace clients where they are so they feel free to tell the untold stories of their past, and we equip them to live the....
We believe in caring for the whole person. Our integrated program operates through the local church and equips clients to thrive physically, emotionally, spiritually, and economically. To learn more about our approach, visit untold.org/approach.
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:17-18)
"I am grateful to God for His faithfulness in my life. He brought the Untold center staff into my life, and they have been by my side ever since." Rhoda, Untold client in Rongai, Kenya
We want everyone to tell the untold stories of their past that have been silenced by stigma and to live boldly into the untold stories of their future. We also believe that everyone has untold worth and potential beyond measure. #LifeBeyondAIDS
We have *BIG* news to share today. After 14 years as CARE for AIDS, we are changing our name!
We believe that our new name more fully represents who we've always been and who we want to be for years to come.
CARE for AIDS is now Untold. Visit us at untold.org.
"The program has taught me that HIV is not a death sentence. I believe that I can live a full life and also share the love and hope I have with others." –Salama, CARE for AIDS client
We are so proud of each and every graduate of the CARE for AIDS program. They now represent enough dependent children to fill the Dallas Cowboys stadium—over 80,000 children are no longer at risk of losing one or both parents to AIDS.
"Thank you for walking with me through this dark season and for the food packages that support my daughter and me. I no longer have suicidal thoughts; all I have now is hope. My life has changed for the positive compared to when I came to the program."
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)
