Today, Dr. C. Scott Kruse officially assumed his position as the new dean of the College of Health Sciences. We're pleased to welcome him into the CHS family, and would also like to thank Dr. Stacy Wagovich for her service as interim dean during the executive search.
Yesterday, the college celebrated a gift of over $130,000 from the LaMantia family through the Stars Scholarship Fund to support future Licensed Clinical Social Workers. The gift will help address the shortage of mental and behavioral health care providers in the region.

Martha Rubi Gasca, the lead medical laboratory scientist at the El Paso Department of Public Health Laboratory, graduated from the clinical laboratory science program in @utepchs. She said UTEP instructors train students to have a human approach to even the most clinical work.

This May, five CHS students will serve in honorific roles at the Spring 2024 commencement ceremony. These students were selected for their positions based on academic achievement, extracurricular participation, and community and University service.
