Published yesterday, in this paper we showed that up to 15% of a plant #biopolymer can be used in plastic consumer products without compromising their mechanical or thermal properties. Promising approach for reducing our dependency on plastics. Full Paper:

So far, I was the only student in our lab with funding directed towards a project in #CulturedMeat (instead of medical applications of biomaterials). Today, that number is 2 as we welcome Gabby White this summer who won a fellowship from the Food Systems Dept. Welcome Gabby!
