@valhalla_guy @ThrillaRilla369 2. We worked with veterans who ran a coffee house right outside of Fort Lewis WA. Of course I can't prove a negative, but nobody I knew harbored animosity for the typical returning soldier and we certainly didn't hang out in airports looking for vets to spit on.

You base that on 1 book by an author who was not there. There are hundreds of accounts by vets themselves including Delmar Pickett Jr. The "welcome them home" commercials were as real as the hate. I will stick with humans that lived through it over those that profited from rewriting it.

Folks, let me explain something to you about polls. Phone polls are almost non-existent at this point. They're too expensive and you can't reach enough people. It used to be that even a big poll would reach maybe 800 people. Now you see these polls with 3,000 and 4,000 people in the sample and you're like, wow, that's a big sample! The reality is that these are internet panel polls. An internet panel poll is not a random sample. It's a poll where people have actually opted in to be a part of the poll. That's not how random sampling works. Without random sampling polls are meaningless. An internet panel poll is even faker than a low response phone poll.
