Maybe I'm odd but I genuinely like the integration of TWEWY cast in DDD far better than like. Most of the final fantasy stuff in kingdom hearts stuff

@fortayee it became a huge meme in the 2016 - 2018 era of the fandom because of certain youtubers, I've seen it and it is pretty cool tbh, it's the reason we got Hikaru Midorikawa as the official voice for Marth so that's very neat.

@Nymlus @fortayee you know you could complain right? everyone has the right to demand accessibility, its a privilege here to learn english and have those resources. you are basically saying 'suck it up and learn english like we do' ppl shouldn't feel obligated to do it in the first place

@valkryv @fortayee It seems to mostly be a problem for speakers of relatively popular languages like spanish/french/chinese. I'm swedish and no one ever localizes anything for sweden unless they're making kids movies. So we just learn english and we don't complain

@fortayee I can definitely see being protetctive and the probability of misinterpretation is always there when adapting a work and its a valid concern, but then some are treating utdl like its some ancient literature that cannot be experienced in another language and its kinda nuts ngl

@valkryv I am defending him from the perspective of someone who has dealt w fan patches and unlocalized games many time but also someone who makes games and understand what a commitment a new whole script would be

@fortayee There's also an inherent bias because most english speakers are always catered to so ppl defending t*by don't know how hard it is to navigate content when speaking a second language and how unaccessible fan translations are to the general population (non tech savy/ console onlys)

@fortayee I think that, being that hub areas are looking to be a mainstay, in ng+ they could add the option of just moving that part to a menu you can pull up at any time if you want, there's always the option of finishing up exploration in the menu if you do still wanna explore a lil

@counting_cosmos THISSS i binged the whole series in the span of a little over a year, it's had a vice grip on me ever since. Discussing my thoughts as I was consuming it to friends who've played it all before is one of the main highlights from my time experiencing it.

It makes it an almost "binge" like series since you want to see what happens next and how that connects to what you saw. And then talk about it with others. Ofc this is mostly helped by the fact that everything is mostly accessible

Like it or not but KH having a story where every game connects to each other did wonders for fandom retention lmao
