@matiaslespiau Absolutely! It is amazing how fast ideas get skewed. I have alrwdy seen organizations which call their teams with the different team types from #teamtopologies, but there is little thought behind. It is the process, interaction that makes the difference

@valyonchev Yes! Having a formal team can help, but there is more to it! You still have to: - sponsor them with other teams - adjust existing processes - learn new modes of interaction It took us some time to establish our first horizontal (now enabling) team in our organization.

One observation on transforming existing teams or roles into enabling teams (as in @TeamTopologies) is that there are two places from where the teams might come: 1. Gatekeeping teams 2. Horizontal teams And they have very different challenges! 1/6

@matiaslespiau "yes and..." What I see in some organizations where those horizontal teams don't exist as teams - they have communities of practice instead, which some may call guilds. The key challenge there is that they are not taken seriously and given the weight they need to influence at all

2. Horizontal teams provide expertise in a technology or practice. Quality Assurance, UI/Design, Reliability, and Machine Learning teams can be structured this way. They are on the right path to becoming enablers, but their main challenge is how to influence the org. 4/6
