💔 #USPresidentialElection2024

Last night in a lovely restaurant in @VilleStRaphael called #leBishop this charming #Chihuahua (name of Penelope, likes carrots) came to sit beside me, unprompted, for over an hour. Non mais. Have they ALL read #NiceDog? #BBCNSSA @ed_pr @BBCFrontRow @BBCRadio4 @commapress 🤣 🇲🇫

Proof that a good list poem isn't just the preserve of poetry for children. And also that children's poets write wonderful poems for adults, too. This from A Sentience of Sycamores by Roger Stevens @PoetryZone ❤️

'Maman?'
'Oui, cheri?'
'Et ben qu'est-ce-qu'on fait de beau cet hiver?'
'On va passer un bon moment ensemble emmerder les touristes qui veulent acceder à la promenade et à la plage Beau Rivage de la @VilleStRaphael, chéri. Tu vas voir...' 🤭🤣🇲🇫

Over on @Threads I have shared an astonishing video of the @MonopolyUK board brought to life in a single day by my daughter and her fellah as they sprinted through the streets of London. Not sharing here because of the feeding trenzy the bots it would trigger 😡. See you there!

Auchterarder Book Festival is on 9th November and this year it is on until 3pm (this is last year's poster 😅) I believe the workshops are fully booked but there are author panels and children's events available. #bookcommunity

@IMcMillan My young daughters once put a plastic golden retriever in my herb garden🐕. Every year the herring gulls find it and take it to the roof for their chicks to play with. Their game is to rush about with it and steal it off each other. Every year it gets dropped and back it goes 🐕.

The crown of Princess Blanche, on display in the treasury at the Munich Residenz. Dating to the late 14thC, it’s the earliest surviving crown known to have been in England. It first appears in an inventory of Richard II and may have arrived in England with his first wife, Anne of Bohemia. It came to Germany with Blanche, the daughter of Henry IV of England, who married Louis III Elector Palatine. A wonderful survival #crown #crownjewels #munichresidenz #crownofprincessblanche

I have used another portrait of the Drummond Family in the rose book I am working on.

Or perhaps they just liked a whole family portrait, of which there are loads. Here's the Bradshaw Family by Zoffany, 1769.

Parental affection just does not seem to be such a thing in western art? A dead cat in a goldfish bowl or a rotting head in a nice pot of basil, now...

He painted them repeatedly.
