@plushpilled It just isn't the right job. I hated retail, too, so did your Dad. There are jobs that are a joy to do! But retail is absolute horseshit. You just gotta find one that engaged the ol hyper focus 🙂

@plushpilled Autism with its poor emotional regulation and ADHD with its insufficient dopamine can cause the same symptoms. I've got mine somewhat under control with butt tons of therapy, SAM-e and a few other supplements. I'm still not perfect but good enough to function

@plushpilled First and most importantly you aren't doing anything wrong! A lot of neurodivergencies involve auditory processing issues. It can take us longer to understand what is being said to us. This means talking to more than one person at once can be overstimulating.

@plushpilled It is almost always better to talk about a traumatic thing as soon as you are able. Also, Tetris helps the brain make sense of trauma.

@plushpilled I've had some success with supporting that small fear by consoling it as I would one of my kids. "I understand that you're scared and sad, but I'm not your enemy here, let's work together to make the changes we need for you to feel safe, and for me to feel healthy.
