after getting burned a few times u start noticing patterns
if clients haggle hard on price before we even start, that's usually a sign of how the entire project will go
if every message feels slightly passive aggressive or overly demanding before money is even exchanged, it only gets worse once they've paid
if they can't clearly explain what they want but expect u to figure it out and also get it right the first time, that's a losing game
the biggest one for me is how they respond to my first pushback
if i suggest something different and they immediately shut it down without hearing me out, i know i'll just suffer by working with them
NONE of these are guarantees that a client will be bad, but when u see 2 or 3 of them stack up, it's usually not worth it
the money u make isn't worth the energy u lose
