Pokémon Platinum I had a lot of fun with this one, it’s definitely one of the better pokemon games I’ve played. Sinnoh is fun to explore, the routes are well designed, the Distortion World and Cyrus were neat, all for a pretty memorable pokemon game 8.5/10

If these moves were more viable I could understand it more but they aren’t. Rock smash is weak, rock climb is low accuracy and another normal type HM, and waterfall + surf means two moveslots are taken up on your water type. I basically had to use an HM mule for a lot of the game

I do have a couple gripes. Being a gen 4 game means it runs very slowly and that can make the gameplay tedious, especially if you grind. Also the required HMs are ridiculous. For victory road, you need rock smash, strength, waterfall, surf, and rock climb

As I rewatch Stardust Crusaders, I'm going to try to pay extra attention to how substantial each fight is to the story and characters. Because I remember a lot of them being uninteresting and feeling like filler when I first watched it
